Terms of use

Who we are

State Board Pass is run by Sava Labs Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 16124943, registered office Unit 13 Freeland Park, Wareham Road, Lytchett Matravers, Poole BH16 6FA, United Kingdom. In these terms "we" and "us" mean that company, and "you" means the person who uses the site.

By using State Board Pass you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.

What State Board Pass is

State Board Pass is practice material for the written exam you take to get a beauty licence in a US state. You answer practice questions, you see your score, and you see which topics you are weak in.

What State Board Pass is not

It is not a course, not training and not a class. It is not a school. It gives you no certificate, no diploma and no credential of any kind. It is not part of the hours your state asks you to complete before you apply for a licence, and it does not replace any of them. You do not enroll. You buy access to practice material and you use it on your own.

It is independent. It is not made, approved or endorsed by NIC, PSI, Milady, Pivot Point, the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, or any other state board or exam company. Read the disclaimer page for the full statement.

What you get

One practice test of 20 questions is free. You need no account for it.

If you pay, you get access, on this website, to practice for the state and the licence you chose: unlimited practice exams for your own study (see fair use below), timed like your real exam, your results per topic, and the practice mode that shows the right answer and the reason after each question. Each practice exam draws its questions from our question bank for that state and licence, and we decide which questions it draws. You do not get a copy, a download, an export or a file of the questions, and we do not promise a particular number of questions or that you will see every one.

There is one pass. It gives you 365 days of access from the moment we take the payment. You pay once. It does not renew itself, and we never charge you again.

The pass covers one state and one licence, the ones you chose when you paid. The price is on the pricing page. Your access starts when we take the payment and it ends when the 365 days run out. We do not shorten it and we do not extend it, and your exam date changes nothing about it.

Access is for one person. Share nothing, and do not let anyone else use your account.

What the pass is

  1. The pass is a personal licence to use the State Board Pass practice service on our website, for one state and one licence, for 365 days from payment. It is not a sale of the questions or of any copy of them.
  2. You do not get a download, an export, a file, a print copy or offline access. Questions are shown one practice exam at a time, and we decide which questions each exam draws.
  3. We do not promise a particular number of questions, or that you will see every question. The number on a page is the count on the day it was published.
  4. The questions, explanations and pages are ours. You may not copy, record, screenshot in bulk, scrape, share, publish, sell, or use them to build, train or prompt another product or an AI tool.
  5. The pass is for your own study. Fair use: one account may start up to 5 full-length practice exams and 20 short practice sets a day, and we may stop automated or unusual use.
  6. One person per pass. Do not share your login. We may end a pass that is shared, scraped or misused, without a refund.
  7. We may add, change, correct or remove questions at any time, for example when an exam outline changes. Your pass covers the bank as it is during your 365 days.
  8. We work to keep the site available, but we do not promise uninterrupted access. If you paid and could not use the pass at all, the refund rule's exception for access you never got applies.
  9. We check every question against its source, but a mistake can slip through. Use the report button; we fix confirmed mistakes. No question, answer or score is a promise about your real exam.
  10. You may end your pass at any time; all sales are final under the refund rule.
  11. We may update these terms. The version that applied when you paid governs your pass, except for changes the law requires.

Your account

We sign you in with a code we email to you. There is no password. Keep your email account safe, because anyone who reads your email can sign in as you. Tell us at [email protected] if you think somebody else is using your access.

Payment

Prices are in US dollars. The price you see is the whole price, and nothing is added at checkout. Sava Labs Ltd sells you the access and Stripe takes the card payment for us. You get a receipt by email, and your card statement shows STATE BOARD PASS. We never see or hold your card number.

Each purchase is a single payment. There is no subscription and nothing renews by itself.

Refunds

All sales are final. We do not refund a change of mind. We put three things right at any time, a double charge, a wrong amount, and access you paid for and never got. The whole rule is on the refund page, and that page is part of these terms.

What we do not promise

We do not promise that you will pass. We do not promise any score. We do not promise a licence or a job. No part of this site is a guarantee of any outcome.

We do not promise that our questions match the questions in your real exam. They cannot, and they must not. Our questions are written by us from the published content outline for your state and licence, from state law and rules, and from public safety and health sources. Nobody at State Board Pass sits the real exam and nobody writes a question from memory of a real exam.

We give the service as it is and as it is available. We do not promise that it will run without a break or without a mistake.

AS FAR AS THE LAW ALLOWS, WE GIVE NO IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY AND NO IMPLIED WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

We write every question with care and we correct a question as soon as we learn it is wrong. Your state or the exam company can change the exam and the rules at any time. Always read the official candidate bulletin for your state before you sit the exam, and treat the board's own words as the truth.

How you may use the material

You may use the questions, the explanations and the results to study, for yourself, on this website.

You may not copy, download, export, print to a file, record, screenshot in bulk, republish, sell, rent or give away any part of the material. You may not use a robot, a scraper or any automatic tool on the site. You may not use the material to build, train or prompt another product, including an artificial intelligence model.

Fair use: one account may start up to 5 full-length practice exams and 20 short practice sets a day. That is more than one person studies in a day; the limit is there to stop automatic use. We may also limit, slow or end access that is not a real person's own study, such as a script or a bot.

If you break this rule we can end your access with no refund.

Our content

The questions, the explanations, the text and the design are ours and are protected by copyright. Names such as NIC, PSI, Milady and Pivot Point, and the names of state boards, belong to their owners. We use them only to say which exam you are getting ready for.

If we change something

We can change, add to or stop part of the service. We add, correct and remove questions over time, for example when an exam outline changes; your access covers the question bank as it is during your 365 days. If we stop the whole service while you have paid access left, we refund the part you have not used.

We can change these terms. If a change matters to you, we tell you by email and we post the new effective date at the top of this page. The terms that apply to your purchase are the terms that were on this page on the day you paid.

Ending access

You can stop using the site at any time. Write to [email protected] if you want your account deleted.

We can end your access if you break these terms, if you use someone else's payment, or if we must stop for a legal reason. If we end your access for a reason that is not your fault, we refund the part you have not used.

Limits on what we owe you

Nothing we say is advice about your licence application. Check anything that matters with your state board.

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for an indirect loss, and that includes a lost job, a lost exam fee, a delay in getting your licence, lost earnings and lost time.

Our total liability to you for anything connected with the service is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Some states, including New Jersey, do not allow some of these limits. If your state does not allow one, that one does not apply to you. Nothing here limits a liability that the law does not let us limit.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the US state where you live.

For California residents

Under California Civil Code section 1789.3, California users are entitled to this notice. The service is provided by Sava Labs Ltd (contact details under "How to reach us" below). The price is on the pricing page and is charged once. If you have a complaint, write to us first. You may also contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by telephone at (800) 952-5210.
